Working this evening on a background image for a pop-up graveyard scene which will feature in The Crossing. The persistent rain outside is helping set the tone.
Here is Ronan from the Two Detectives grappling with Chaos Theory and making mistakes, at the Science in the Spotlight Scratch Theatre Night, run by the Edinburgh International Science Festival. It was great fun working on this show, and we really enjoyed the other pieces at the Scratch. We even met a Chaos Theory expert, who will hopefully be working with us as 10,000 Mistakes develops.
If you 'Dance Wi' The Deil' at this year's Galoshins you'd better watch out, she might steal your heart...
... or this heart anyway. The base shape was carved from foam and then hollowed out so it can be squeezed up small and hidden in your hand. At Halloween the night lights up with glowing demons and glittering dervishes, the scary and the sinister come out of the shadows to play, society examines it's fears in the open and we act out our suppressions in an over-the-top and totally innocent public festival. I love outdoor performance and Halloween is one of the best times for it as the public are hugely committed, and always turn out in massive numbers expecting thrills and chills.
I'm working now on these lantern and costume designs for an upcoming outdoor event celebrating Halloween around the globe. |
