There are two distinct sides to making a game, working out the mechanics and designing the artwork. I have found that I need to work on them alternately, as the skills are completely different. I will take a morning to make a mechanic function, then in the afternoon draw the characters or scenery to populate it. However it's only when the two come together that you get a real sense of what the gameworld is like, and what else you need to do to bring it to life. Here you can see the last changes I made with Luxury Slime Vortex, where I focused on colour and texture to liven up the world.
The lovely Richard Greenan from Kit Records got me involved in this project, and it has been a thoroughly brilliant one from start to finish. I made this short mini-adventure game for the release of the excellent new album LUXURY SLIME VORTEX by the very talented Stephen Maskell, aka The Nag's Head.
