Been working for the past few days on a portable neon sign for the aerial circus / sonic art performance Liquid Sky.
It uses flexible LED neon tubing which means it is very robust compared to traditional neon tubes, and it can also be taken apart and rolled up for transit. Below you can see the stages of the build: - 1:1 plan - Backboards cut from 6mm ply and bolted so they can be dismantled for travel - Painted semi-gloss black - PVC channel to hold the neon cut to lengths and screwed in place - Neon tube measured, cut and attached to the power source - Neon clipped in place - Unwanted areas taped out - Done Just got sent this ace photo of the Weird Sisters performing last weekend at the fantastic Clown Cabaret Scratch Night. What a treat it was to see the Weird Sisters working in dramatic lighting, and with a captive audience who laughed throughout!
