Above are the initial storyboard images for four one minute animations I am working on as part of the Moments In Time exhibit at this year's Edinburgh International Science Festival. While I have animated small pieces and games for myself in the past, this is the first opportunity I've had to make finished animations that the public will see. I'm really enjoying the process, and learning a lot.
Below you can see the stages of one character - starting with a pen drawing, then digitally filling in block colour, adding texture and detail, then chopping the image up into separate pieces and finally stitching them back together and animating the movement. Once this has been done with each character, and the environments and objects are also ready, then everything goes into the film editing software where it is combined. Locked away working on this really exciting project for the next month. Will have a bit more to say about it soon...
